Extra Life Spotlight: Joshua & Stephanie M
Husband and wife duo, Joshua and Stephanie, have been involved with Extra Life since 2016 and the first game they played together was Settlers of Catan. Stephanie thinks that pizza and ranch is a weird food combo, but I think that is completely normal! Read below to learn some more fun facts about these Extra Lifers!
- How long have you been involved with Extra Life? We’ve been playing since 2016, so this is our fourth year.
- Why do you Extra Life? We love that we get to play games, and it’s helpful to other people!
- What is your favorite board game? Settlers of Catan – it’s the first game we played together, and an easy one to teach
- What is your favorite video game? Joshua: Super Smash Bros Ultimate (Switch) or Tetris (any modern version). Stephanie: Tomba (PS1) or Dr. Mario (NES)
- What is the first video game you ever played? Both: Super Mario Bros.
- With whom do you do Game Day? We play together, and we invite all of our friends to come by and participate, too. We compete for attention with some other friends who also participate on Game Day, but most of them play noon-to-noon instead of midnight-to-midnight, so there is some time that doesn’t overlap.
- What is the most useless talent you have? Joshua: I can wiggle my ears independently. Stephanie: Breaking a banana in half with my hands.
- What is your favorite movie/TV show? Joshua: Paranoia Agent. Stephanie: Ouran High School Host Club.
- What weird food combinations do you really enjoy? Joshua: Ice cream and gummy bears. Stephanie: Pizza and ranch.
- What is your cure for hiccups? Joshua: Wait until they go away on their own. Stephanie: Scare them out of Josh.
- Where is the furthest place you have traveled? California beaches
- What’s your “Back in my day, we….”? Back in our day, you had to tell the game to save every time!
- What is your favorite restaurant? CC’s City Broiler, when we can afford it!
- What is your favorite holiday? Joshua: Extra Life Day. Stephanie: Thanksgiving.
- What is your favorite day of the week? Joshua: Saturday. Stephanie: Wednesday hump-day!
